Team for test game against France announced

Joachim Löw announced who’s called up for the match against France on 29 February in Bremen. Notably missing are Bastian Schweinsteiger, Per Mertesacker and Mario Götze as well as Lukas Podolski. The four players are all injured.

The last time we played France was in 2005, when we drew 0:0. Die Mannschaft will also wear the new green away jerseys for the first time in this match.

Schweinsteiger, Müller and Özil on Men’s Shortlist for World Player of the Year

FIFA unveiled the candidates for the Ballon d’Or award and for the FIFA World Coach of the Year today. The final decision will be made by the national teams’ captains and and their coaches as well as by international Media representatives. The names of the three finalists will be announced on 5 December 2011 and the winners will then be revealed in a televised ceremony in Zurich on 9 January 2012.

Real Madrid’s Mesut Özil as well as Bayern’s Bastian Schweinsteiger and Golden Boot winner Thomas Müller are all in contention for World Player of the Year.

In addition, Germany’s head coach Joachim Löw and Dortmund’s coach Jürgen Klopp were both nominated for Coach of the Year.
